Kia ora, I’m Jo. I run GrandFriends NZ, a charitable trust that connects older adults with families and children in a surrogate grandparent-style relationship. Our kaupapa is all about building meaningful intergenerational connections — sharing time, stories, skills, and a sense of belonging across generations.

GrandFriends NZ exists to support families who may not have grandparents nearby, while also reducing loneliness and isolation for older people. We believe everyone benefits when generations are connected — children gain wisdom and care, older adults gain purpose and joy, and communities grow stronger.
